How to build your Dream Physique? What’s the secret?
This is the question which we all have in our minds. With the passing time, fitness community is coming up with new training methods and techniques to achieve the maximum muscle growth. But the question of what is the best and optimum method of weight training still remains unanswered.
Now the question arises that, after so much of advancement in science and technology, and AI these days, are we still not able to get the answer?
Or are we asking the wrong question?
Look, we need to understand the fact that when we say the word “BODYBUILDING,” it contains body in it, which each one of us have different. By different here, I mean different upbringing in terms of food, climatic conditions, allergies and so on with the mark of genetics we carry!
This was just the baseline of our lives. What comes now is the career we are in because that defines how much time we get to look into other aspects of our life.
Also, there are claims around the world across different social platforms that you don’t need to go to the gym to build a good body and bodyweight training is enough-n-all. The point is, a “Good body” depends on the perspective of the person who is working for it. But we can’t undermine the fact that you can’t become a pro athlete just by doing body-weight training.
Again, that’s true that not all of us who are training, have the goal to become a professional bodybuilder. But we can’t deny the fact that each one of us want to look close to them in a way (though in our minds, we already are, LOL!).
So, if you are putting so much of hard work to achieve that perfect body while balancing other stuff of your life, it should be done in the best way possible!
Hence, one thing becomes very clear that, if you really want to build a well-defined physique and if you have time (whatever it is), try to show-up in the Gym because while we train in the gym we are not just surrounded by machines but the people as well who are here with by and large the same goal. Even if you don’t wanna train one day, the people around training there motivate you to push yourself, and that is irreplaceable!
We fitness enthusiasts come from different walks of life, have different careers and varying amounts of time available, but what remains common is the love for fitness and the aim to build that 'Dream physique'. Now, after this quirky discussion, we need to answer a very simple question: ‘Can the training method for all of us be the same’?
No.. Not at all!
9 To 6 Hustlers
For example, if you are someone who has a 9 to 6 job with the daily to and fro of office, it is just not possible to train at the gym for 2 hours straight since you got to look after your other responsibilities as well. Hence, if your schedule allows you 45 mins to 1 hour, it’s enough to have an effective workout. What you need to do is not wasting time on 10 exercises for a particular muscle and focus on just 2 to 3 ones that is the base to build it. The result? Short workout session but a focused one which will make you grow for sure!
And for cardio, whenever you get time, either at the office or at night while you're on personal calls, try to walk as much as possible. You must have heard that famous saying in Hindi: 'Boond Boond se Sagar Banta Hai!' Just like that, those few steps you walk every time can add up to a big milestone at the end of the day, resulting in amazing results.
Young Students and Trainees
Now comes the turn of students and trainees, who are relatively freer than the corporate hustlers discussed above. They have both the time and energy required to achieve that 'dream physique'. Plus, the advantage of being relatively young aids in their faster growth, since they have a high amount of supporting hormones for that.
They can train 5 to 6 days a week for a longer duration performing more number of exercises, since they have the time to cover it. What matters most is that they should try to eat less junk and more clean food as much as possible, because the foundation of their growth gets decided at this stage of life. Also, if possible, they should try to involve themselves into a specific sport or couple of them for functional fitness and to maintain flexibility for a longer period in life.
Businessmen and Entrepreneurs
There is one segment of people who have decent money but unpredictable free time — sometimes they have plenty, and sometimes, almost none. Yes, you guessed it right, they are entrepreneurs and businessmen. It’s very true that money brings comfort and ease of living. But it’s also true that a healthy and fit body is something money can’t buy, it has to be earned through the sweat of hard work.
So, if you belong to that segment, all you need is a bit of planning and self-discipline. Your schedule might be unpredictable, but your fitness routine doesn’t have to be. Even if you get 2 days a week, a heavy upper-lower body circuit can do the job. What becomes most important here is controlling your caloric intake and the quality of macros you're taking in. It has to be protein-rich to support your muscle growth. And on hectic days, even a quick 20–30 minute home workout or some stretching can keep you going. Remember, it's not about spending hours but about staying consistent!
In the end, whether you’re juggling with a demanding job or enjoying the flexibility of student life or running a full-time business, the key to building that dream physique lies in consistency and smart effort—not in spending endless hours at the gym. Tailor your training according to your lifestyle, focus on quality over quantity, and make small but steady improvements every day. Because fitness isn’t about doing everything, it’s about doing what you can, with full focus and intent. Keep showing up, and the results will follow.
